ANN ARBOR, Michigan, October 13. Astrid Swensen, the second-ranked recruit from Massachusetts on Collegeswimming.com, has decided to continue her swimming career next year at the University of Michigan.

Swensen, who attends Beverly High School and swims for YMCA of the North Shore in Beverly, Mass., will provide the Wolverines with additional depth in the butterfly, backstroke and individual medley events and should make an immediate impact on the conference level.

Her best events include the 100 fly (54.62), 200 fly (1:57.87), 200 IM (2:04.70), 400 IM (4:20.79) and 200 back (2:01.48). Her 200 fly personal best would have made the A final in the event at last season’s Big Ten Championships, while her 400 IM and 100 fly times would have placed in the B final.
