Arizona State Grabs Commitment from Great Britain’s Jane Brown
NEW COMMIT: Newcastle, Great Britain’s Jane Brown has committed to continue her swim career at Arizona State and will join the Sun Devils in the fall of 2019.
Brown swims year-round with Newcastle Swim Team under head coach Ryan Livingstone and has represented the British Swimming Federation. She raced at the British Summer Championships in July where she recorded a pair of lifetime bests. She was a five-time finalist at the 2017 Swim England National Summer meet and competed in five events at the Edinburgh International meet last March.
She told Swimming World:
“I’m excited to start my university experience at Arizona State University. Under the supervision of an experienced coaching staff, I hope to progress in both my swimming and my academic studies over the next four years! Bring it on! #ForksUp”
In LCM, her best times include:
- 50m fly – 27.81
- 100m fly – 1:01.81
- 50m free – 27.12
- 100m free – 58.18
- 200m free – 2:05.17
- 50m back – 30.09
- 200m IM – 2:20.55
In SCY, those times convert to:
- 50 fly – 24.30
- 100 fly – 54.82
- 50 free – 23.89
- 100 free – 51.43
- 200 free – 1:50.65
- 50 back – 26.17
- 200 IM – 2:03.26
When she arrives in Tempe as a member of the class of 2023, Brown will add valuable depth to their sprint free and fly groups. Although her time SCY converted times aren’t quite in Pac-12 scoring range just yet, she’ll join a talented training group that includes Camryn Curry, Ruby Martin and Chloe Isleta.
