Arizona Senior State Championships

MESA, Arizona. March 27. DANIELLE Lee of AZM and Darian Townsend of Tucson Ford won the most events individually during the 2010 Arizona Senior State short course yard Championship at the Kino Jr. High Aquatic Center.

Lee won three women's events individually including the 200 free (1:50.80), 100 back (56.36), and 200 back (2:01.75), while Townsend won four men's events individually including the 100 fly (48.23), 200 free (1:38.00), 100 back (48.92) and 200 IM (1:48.58).

Like Lee, Erica Stock from WSF won three events individually. Stock won the 50 breast (29.62), 200 breast (2:18.00), and 400 IM (4:26.27).

Kelli Benjamin from SWIM took control of the sprint freestyle events by taking the win in both the 50 free (23.53) and 100 free (50.37).

Other multiple winners included Emily Christiansen and Belen Enguidanos from SAC for the women's side and Tyler Messerschmidt and Ryan O'Connell from WSF. Christiansen won the 500 free (5:02.19) and 1650 free (17:53.41) and Enguidanos won the 100 fly (57.89) and 200 fly (2:03.54). Messerschmidt won three events including the 50 fly (22.71), 50 free (20.53), and100 free (45.84). O'Connell won the 500 free (4:51.26) and the 1650 free (16:38.98).

The SWIM women won four out of the five relays, winning the 200-medley relay (1:48.18), 400-medley relay (3:58.19), 200 free relay (1:38.03), and 400 free relay (3:35.48). PHX prevented SWIM from sweeping the relays by winning the 800 free relay (7:34.72).

Tucson Ford men won three out of the five relays including the 400 free relay (3:11.54), 800 free relay (7:08.22), and 400-medley relay (3:33.34). PHX won the 200-medley relay (1:35.59) and MAC won the 200 free relay (1:25.57).
