An Inside Look at Coaching at YMCAs Provided in Swimming Technique Section’s Q&A Interview

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 8. ROBIN Jacobs, Head Age Group Coach at Winston-Salem YMCA, is the subject of this month's Q&A interview in the Swimming Technique section of Swimming World Magazine.

Jacobs has been named North Carolina Age Group Coach of the Year for 1995, 1997 and 2008. In this interview, she talks about the special attraction of being able to coach at a YMCA. Jacobs talks about such challenges as; how she handles a wide range of talent levels, a method she uses that results in encouragement and motivation for her athletes and how she approaches the identification and training of her highly talented swimmers all the while keeping with her Y's mission of helping each athlete develop in spirit, mind and body.

One of the more talented of coach Jacob's athletes is Genevieve Miller, who is spotlighted in this issue's "How They Train" segment.
