Amsterdam Swim Cup: Ranomi Kromowidjojo Lights Up Final Day

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, March 28. RANOMI Kromowidjojo put on a show during the final day of long course meter action at the Amsterdam Swim Cup.

Kromowidjojo remained on fire at the meet. Already the top swimming in the women's 50 free in the world this year with a 24.93 from a meet in Lyon this month, Kromowidjojo improved upon that time with a 24.40 for the win. Hinkelien Schreuder placed second in 25.02, while Inge Dekker took third in 25.38.

Sarah Sjostrom won the women's 50 fly in 26.32, while Inge Dekker took a close second in 26.33. The two times put each swimmer fourth and fifth in the world this year. Melanie Henique finished third in 26.80. Sebastiaan Verschuren turned in a 48.98 in the men's 100 free. He became only the second man under 49 seconds in the world this year. Eamon Sullivan has the top time with a 48.52. Fabien Gillot (49.40) and William Meynard (49.75) placed second and third.

Jenny Mensing cruised to victory in the women's 200 back with a 2:11.57. Femke Heemskerk (2:13.14) and Sharon van Rouwendaal (2:13.40) placed second and third. Lennart Stekelenburg won the men's 100 breast in 1:01.57. Robin van Aggele (1:01.86) and Giacomo Perez Dortona (1:03.19) snared second and third.

Chiara Boggiatto topped the women's 200 breast in 2:30.53. Caroline Ruhnau (2:32.65) and Lia Dekker (2:33.48) completed the top three. Nick Driebergen finished first in the men's 100 back with a 55.10. Camille Lacourt (55.41) and Bastiaan Lijesen (55.50) claimed second and third.

Martina de Memme won the women's 400 free in 4:15.35, while Rieneke Terink (4:16.90) and Petra Granlund (4:18.25) finished second and third. Luca Ferretti snared the men's 1500 free title in 15:16.22. Job Kienhuis (15:33.56) and Manuel Schwarz (16:06.42) claimed second and third.
