Allyson Kleinsorgen, a former Western Kentucky signee, has now signed with Boise State, according to the university. Kleinsorgen originally signed a National Letter of Intent with the Hilltoppers in November, but after the suspension of the program, she was granted a release from her commitment.

Kleinsorgen now heads to Boise State primarily as a backstroker and sprint freestyler. As a senior at Roxbury High School in New Jersey, she took home two victories the Morris County Championships in the 50-yard free (23.87) and 100-yard back. Later, at the NJSIAA (New Jersey) Meet of Champions, she finished fifth in the 100-yard back in 57.22 and sixth in the 50-yard free in 24.04.

The future Bronco also holds six individual and three relay records at Roxbury. She has been part of the YMCA National Team for five years and swam a 55.76 100-yard back at New Jersey Meet of Champions as part of the National Team. That time would have ranked tenth in the entire Mountain West conference last season.

In the 100-yard free, Kleinsorgen clocked a 52.26 at the YMCA Short Course Nationals, which should be valuable on relays. Her 200-yard back time of 2:02.38 will give the Broncos depth in the longer backstroke races as well.

Boise State coach Kristin Hill is thrilled to pick up Kleinsorgen. “Ally is really the completion of the class who we were hoping for,” Hill said. “Ally fit well within our team dynamic and she also brings a lot of strength academically, which is an important part of our program.”

Not including Kleinsorgen, Boise State is bringing in seven prep swimmers and one diver.

Boise State finished second in the Mountain West last year behind San Diego State.
