Alberto Montini Betters Three FINA Masters World Records

RICCIONE, Italy, July 1. AT the Italian Long Course Masters Championships this past weekend, Alberto Montini lowered three FINA Masters world records in the 40-44 age division. He dropped a pair of his global marks, while cracking one held by another swimmer.

The breaststroke specialist turned in a 1:05.04 in the men's 100 breast to smash his previous standard of 1:05.93 set in April 2008. Meanwhile, he demolished his 200 breast record with a 2:18.94. His old mark stood at 2:23.33, also set in April 2008.

The newest record added to his resume came in the men's 200 IM. Montini clocked a 2:10.63 to cut two seconds from Peter Bermel's 2007 time of 2:12.41.
