Air Force, Mesa State vs. Colorado School of Mines

GOLDEN, Colorado, October 29. THE Colorado School of Mines swimming & diving teams competed against the Air Force Academy and Mesa State on Friday afternoon at the CSM Natatorium. Air Force defeated CSM, 334 to 140 while Mines fell to Mesa State, 279.50 to 196.50.

Daniel Peter led the way for the CSM men as he won the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.40. The Oredigger men went 1-2-3 in that event as Siarhei Piletski finished second (2:02.5) just a tenth of a second behind Peter's. Andrew Corman finished third with a time of 2:05.19.

Matthew Lemke placed second in the 1000 freestyle (10:17.30). Andrew Zerwick, Matt Bisping, Piletski and Elliot Feng finished second (3:35.72) as part of the 400 Medley Relay. Bisping (200 breaststroke, 2:15.77), Zerwick (200 backstroke, 1:56.34) and Aaron Miller (500 freestyle, 4:54.15) are recorded runner-up finishes in individual events. Jesse Dennis finished second in the 3-meter event (240.35) and 3rd in the 1-meter event (213.90).

Kim Anderson paced the Mines women finishing second in both the 1-meter (174.20) and 3-meter (172.65) events. Rainey Perkins finished third in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:34.48. Cayla Wood placed third in both the 200 butterfly (2:16.90) and 200 breaststroke (2:36.58). Jackie Mays placed third in the 100 freestyle (55.38) while Stevie Davidson recorded a third-place finish int the 500 freestyle (5:32.71).

CSM will be in action on Saturday, Nov. 13th at home hosting both Colorado College and Adams State at 2:00 pm.
