2020 Pac-12 Women’s Championships Day 4 Prelims: Weitzeil Out of 100 Free With Injury

The 2020 Pac-12 Women’s Championships continued on Saturday with the last prelims session from Federal Way, Washington.

The session will include the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke and 200 butterfly.

Stanford leads the meet with 1,027 points, well ahead of the field. Cal is second with 866.5 and USC has 768 for third.

Cal’s Abbey Weitzeil pulled out of the 100 free, still dealing with an arm injury. Her status for the rest of the meet is unknown.

Pac-12 Women’s Championships: 200 Backstroke

Stanford took the top three seeds in the 200 backstroke and put four in the finals to kick off the last prelims session.

Sophomore Lucie Nordmann took the top seed in 1:51.77, followed by Erin Voss (1:52.34) and Allie Szekely (1:53.69).

Cal’s Keaton Blovad took the fourth seed in 1:54.13, followed by Utah’s Audrey Reimer (1:54.14), Stanford’s Alex Crisera (1:54.30), Cal’s Courtney Mykkanen (1:54.35) and Arizona’s Axana Merckx (1:55.01).

Pac-12 Women’s Championships: 200 Breaststroke

Stanford again took the top three seeds, this time in the 200 breast, going 1-2-3-5.

Allie Raab took the top spot in 2:08.05, nearly three seconds ahead of her seed time.

Brooke Forde took the second seed in 2:08.86, followed by Zoe Bartel (2:09.40). Grace Zhao was fifth in 2:10.85.

USC’s Isa Odgers disrupted the Stanford run with the fourth seed in 2:09.79 as the Trojans went 4-6-7 behind Odgers, Maggie Aroesty (2:11.41) and Nicole Pavlopoulou (2:11.58).

Arizona State’s Silja Kansakoski took the eight seed in 2:12.01.

Pac-12 Women’s Championships: 200 Fly

Stanford senior Katie Drabot took the top seed in the 200 butterfly, going a 1:53.87.

Cal freshman Rachel Klinker snagged the second seed in 1:54.07, ahead of USC’s Louise Hansson (1:54.21), the defending NCAA champion in the event.

Arizona State’s Lindsay Looney took the fourth seed in 1:55.74, followed by UCLA’s Amy Okada (1:56.82), Stanford’s Allie Szekely (1:56.94), Arizona State’s Ruby Martin (1:57.41) and tied for eighth were Arizona State’s Jade Foelske (1:57.57) and USC’s Catherine Sanchez (1:57.57).
