2020 MVC Championships Day 1: Missouri State Takes Early Lead

The 2020 Missouri Valley Conference Championships kicked off from the Mizzou Aquatic Center on Wednesday.

Missouri State took the early lead after finishing in the top two in both relays on the night.

MVC Championships: Women’s 200 Medley Relay

Southern Illinois hung on for a close victory over Missouri State in the 200 medley relay.

SIU’s Lucia Romero Endolz, Sarah Vogt, Rita Naude and Sierra Forbord won the event in 1:41.28.

Missouri State’s Sarah Allegri, Yuliya Zubina, Ulyana Zubina and Anna Miller finished second in 1:41.51.

MVC Championships: Women’s 800 Free Relay

Missouri State dominated the 800 free relay, earning a near 10-second victory in the event to take the lead after Day 1.

Grace Beahan, Anna Miller, Alex Thorson and Liberty Howell won in 7:16.33.

Northern Iowa’s Katie Taylor, Kylie Engstrom, Sarah Walpole and Jordan McCullough finished second in 7:26.59.
