The first morning session of the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships was highlighted by the Cal Golden Bears and Stanford Cardinal going at it in the heats session. The Pac-12 showed up in a big way as they have the top seed in every swimming event except the 400 medley relay.

Cal is on top in the 200 free relay, Arizona State’s Cierra Runge is the top seed in the 500, Stanford’s Ella Eastin is on top in the 200 IM, and Cal’s Abbey Weitzeil is the top seed in the 50. Michigan is the only non-Pac-12 top seed as the Wolverines are leading the field in the 400 medley relay.

Swimming World’s Peter H. Bick is on deck at the meet capturing photos of the action. Splash through his gallery from this morning’s heats session.
