2019 Mid-American Conference Day 1 Recap: Akron Leads

The first session of the Mid-American Championships in Akron, Ohio featured the women’s 200 yard medley relay and the 800 yard free relay. Akron leads with 80 points. They are superseded by the University at Buffalo (64) who are tied with Eastern Michigan. They are followed by Miami and Bowling Green (58), who are also tied. Ball State is not far behind with 50 points and Ohio with 48 points along with Toledo with 28 points.

Day 1 Results 

200 Medley Relay

Akron’s relay team of, Sadie Fazekas, Paula Garcia, Sarah Watson and Ragen Engle, came out victorious with a new meet record time of 1:36.28. In second place was Eastern Michigan with a time of 1:38.48 and in third was the University at Buffalo in a time of 1:39.65.

800 Freestyle Relay

Akron came up victorious once again with a Conference record as well as a pool record time of 7:06.81. Their team was made up by Avery Movoid, Paulina Nogaj, Sarah Watson and Ellie Nabraska. They were followed by Miami University (7:10.32) and the University at Buffalo (7:13.94) followed in third place.
