Hungary’s Kristof Milak stole the show on night four of the 2019 FINA World Championships, as the young 19-year-old destroyed Michael Phelps’ 200 fly World Record en route to his first World Championship gold.
Throughout the entirety of the finals session, Swimming World photographer Becca Wyant was on deck capturing the action and excitement, while Swimming World’s Craig Lord, John Lohn, Liz Byrnes and Andy Ross reported on the action from Gwangju, South Korea.

Adam Peaty continued his domination of the men’s sprint breaststroke events with a strong showing in the men’s 50 breast. His efforts made him the first man in history to collect six total World Championship breaststroke titles.
Italy’s Federica Pellegrini flexed her dominance and showed why she is one of the strongest veterans in swimming by defending her World Championship title in the women’s 200 free. Pellegrini’s 2019 title marks her fourth time on the top of the title and her eighth straight World Championship medal, as she has been on the podium for the 200 free since 2005.
Australia claimed victory in the mixed 400 medley relay, while the USA took second overall.
