The third preliminary session of the meet will feature the men’s 50 breast, women’s 200 free, men’s 200 fly, and men’s 800 free.

One night after defending his World title in the 100 breast, Great Britain’s Adam Peaty will return as the top seed for the 50 breast. Similar to the 100 breast, Peaty will be looking to compete his three-peat in the 50. Other top names to watch will include the USA’s Michael Andrew, Brazil’s Joao Gomes Junior, Italy’s Fabio Scozzoli, and Italy’s Ilya Shymanovich.

Jaws dropped around the world when Australia’s Ariarne Titmus snuck past Katie Ledecky on night one to claim victory in the women’s 400 free. The two will have their first re-match in the 200 free where they are among the top seeds. In addition to the re-match between Titmus and Ledecky, the 200 free will also showcase Italy’s Federica Pellegrini as she seeks to defend her stunning 2017 upset swim.

The Hungarian duo of Kristof Milak and Tamas Kenderesi enter the men’s 200 fly as the top two seeds, but can expect strong challenges from Japan’s Daiya Seto, the USA’s Justin Wright, and South Africa’s Chad le Clos.

Italy’s Gabriele Detti will begin his quest to defend his 800 free World Championship title along with Italian teammate Gregorio Paltrinieri, who collected the bronze medal in 2017. The USA’s Zane Grothe and Jordan Wilimovsky will look to collect the first medal for the USA in the 800 since Michael McBroom’s silver medal in 2013.
