Day 3 Prelims of Northeast 10 Championships

It was a morning of close swims and competition as the race was on for swimmer’s to get their hand on the wall in the top three on day three prelims of the Northeast 10 Championships.

The morning started with the women’s 400 IM. Last night’s 200 IM winner, Niamh Morgan from Assumption came in first this morning with the time of 4:33.08. Bentley took the second and third place spots with Emily Niemiec (4:36.08) coming in second and Kate Kaduboski (4:37.24) finishing third.

The men’s 400 IM, SCSU’s Raymond Cswerko (4:08.52) finished in first; Cswerko won the 200 IM finals last night as well. It was a tie for the second place seed between Le Moyne’s Tim Buff (4:09.44) and Brandon Beaudoin (4:09.44) of SCSU.

 

The SCSU women are going into tonight seeded first and second in the 100 butterfly. Emily Wolfe touched in at a 57.50 for first and Aubrey Bailey came in second with a 58.02. Victoria Weber from Assumption finished right behind Bailey with a 58.06.

 

It was a tight race in the men’s 100 butterfly this morning. But going into finals tonight it will be Le Moyne’s Travis May with the top time of 50.16. PACE freshman Andrew Cyprianos, came in second (50.70) and a few hundredths after him Daniel Tarbrake of Le Moyne finished third (50.78).

Last night’s 50 freestyle winner Katie Crochet, came in first this morning in the 200 freestyle in the time of 1:53.05. Assumption freshman Shannon Quirk (1:55.22) came in second and Bentley’s Kaitlin McGahie (1:55.39) finished behind in a close third.

The top 4 men all went 1:42 in the 200 freestyle this morning. Last night’s 50 free winner SCSU’s Brendan Murphy came in first in the time of 1:42.06. On his toes was teammate Tyler Vander Vos (1:42.24) and Le Moyne’s Andy Raiola (1:42.46) who came in third.

Saint Rose’s Shannon Walsh won the 100 breaststroke with a 1:06.33. It was another fight for the second place seed between Le Moyne and Saint Michael’s. Kelsey Smith of Le Moyne came in second with a 1:07.18 and St. Michael senior, Julie Shea touched third in a 1:07.54.

The top 3 of the men’s 100 breast all were under 58 seconds. Saint Rose’s Elie McRae is coming into tonight seeded first with a 57.12. PACE took second and third place with Travis Monahan going a 57.54 and Liu Nianzhong went a 57.57.

In the final event of the morning Le Moyne senior Tara O’Donnell finished with the fastest time in the 100 back, going a 57.46. Assumption senior Victoria Weber is seeded second and SCSU’s Aubrey Bailey finished third with a 59.11.

Saint Rose’s Eric Howard won the men’s 100 backstroke with a 51.45, SCSU’s Raymond Snyder came in second (51.49) and PACE freshman, Alex Dimcevski finished third with a 52.07.
