Six teams are competing in invitationals this weekend in preparation for the upcoming championship season. The start of the 2016 Women’s ACC Championships is just over two weeks away.

3 Top Storylines:

1. Duke, NC State, and North Carolina are all slated to compete at the two-day Carolina College Invitational in Chapel Hill. The No. 8 Wolfpack men showed their depth last weekend in their meet against Virginia and North Carolina, and will look to make another statement this weekend. Look for some fast times as the three North Carolina ACC teams go head-to-head one last time before Championships.

2. Virginia divers will compete at Richmond on Friday (women only) and at James Madison on Saturday. In their meet last weekend against NC State and North Carolina, Rebecca Corbett was the top female Cavalier diving, placing fourth on both the 1m and 3m. On the men’s side, Carl Buergler has been the top performer for Virginia and was named the ACC Male Diver of the Week on Jan. 12.

3. Virginia Tech was the only ACC team that didn’t compete last weekend, but the Hokies are back in action to host the Virginia Tech Invitational on Feb. 6-7. Junior Brandon Fiala, who was recently selected to represent the ACC at the 2017 NCAA Convention, leads the Hokies on the men’s side, while the versatile Klaudia Nazieblo does the same for the women.
