Conor Dwyer Erases Ricky Berens’ 200 Free U.S. Open Record

USA’s Conor Dwyer lowered the U.S. Open record in the men’s 200-meter free as he led a USA 1-2 in the event at the 2015 Duel in the Pool.
Dwyer raced his way to a win in 1:42.10. That time cleared the U.S. Open record of 1:42.68 set by Ricky Berens back in 2011. Dwyer has been faster in his career with a 1:41.30 from 2013.
USA’s Ryan Lochte gave USA the 1-2 with a 1:42.53, while Euro’s James Guy placed third in 1:42.93.
USA’s Zane Grothe (1:44.48), Euro’s Dan Wallace (1:44.95) and Euro’s Dion Dreesens (1:45.01) also competed in the finale.
