Olympics, Diving: Guo Jingjing Gives China Fifth Gold With Women’s Three-Meter Win

BEIJING, China, August 17. AFTER a few days of preliminary and semifinal diving, Guo Jingjing put China back into the gold-medal column in the women's three-meter individual event. Her tally of 415.35 gave China its fifth gold medal in as many events.

Russia's Julia Pakhalina placed 16.75 points behind for silver with 398.60 points, while China's Wu Minxia grabbed bronze with 389.85 points.

Nancilea Foster (316.70) and Christina Loukas (315.70) finished eighth and ninth for the U.S., respectively.
