China’s Nationals continued with strong showings in the men’s 100-meter free where the top two qualifiers edged into the world rankings for 2016.

Yu He Xin charged ahead of the competition in the men’s 100-meter free to deliver the top time with a 49.04, good enough to rest in the lower echelons of the top 20 world rankings for 2016. Ning Zetao grabbed a close second in prelims with a 49.11 which also falls in the top 20 world rankings, bumping Caeleb Dressel and James Feigen’s 49.20 tie out. He Jianbin rounded out the top three with a 49.65.

The women’s 200-meter fly was a tightly-bunched group as the top three qualifiers posted times within .44 seconds of one another. Wang Siqi led the qualifiers with a 2:11.09 from the final heat. Zhou Yi Lin (2:11.29) and Zhang Yu Fei (2:11.53) kept close in heat four to claim the second and third place seeds respectively.
