World Masters Swimmers of the Year Named in April Issue of Swimming World

In the World Swimming section, senior writer John Lohn presents a pair of features. One on Erik Vendt, and one on the Crippen family. Managing editor Jason Marsteller previews Europe in this month's Regional Olympic Preview, while USA Diving's Jennifer Lowery takes a look at diving at the 2008 Beijing Games. Additionally, Deborah Ward of the City of Omaha provides a cheat sheet on some of the great things to do in Omaha – the site of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials for swimming.

On top of announcing the 2007 World Masters Swimmers of the Year, as compiled by editorial intern Emily Sampl and Marsteller, SWIM features the latest column from Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen. In The Pool's Edge, Pipes-Neilsen looks into the benefits of using paddles. Ron Marcikic provides the latest Workout Card, while J.R. Rosania offers up a backyard workout. Finally, Kathleen Woolf checks into dieting and carbs in the newest Health Waves.

In Swimming Technique, Michael J. Stott features Coach Pete Morgan of Curl-Burke as well as Ellyn Baumgardner in How They Train. Stott also looks into How to Win a High School State Meet, while Dr. Daniel Carl writes about balancing aerobic with anaerobic training. Finally, Craig Carson writes about how swim school teachers can introduce dolphin kick training to youngsters.

In Junior Swimmer, editorial intern Brian Savard looks back at the incredible weekend of Feb. 8-9, when six national high school records fell. Marsteller also recaps early recruiting for the Class of 2008, while Alan Goldberg writes about motivation in Goldminds. We also recap top age group efforts in Speedo American Relay, and name our TYR Age Group Swimmer of the Month.
