Australia set the pace and booked lane four as they seek to defend their women’s 4x200m free title in Budapest.

The quartet of Leah Neale, Lani Pallister, Brianna Throssell and Kiah Melverton posted a time of 7:47.61 at the Duna Arena.

China were second fastest in 7:49.08 with the USA next through in 7:49.25 with Bella Sims swimming the fastest split of the entire field as she brought them home in 1:55.91 adn with the likes of Katie Ledecky to come into the team for tonight’s final.

Great Britain claimed the eighth and final spot in 7:59.87 with Abbie Wood to slot in.
