World Anti-Doping Agency Suspends Lab in Paris
The World Anti-Doping Agency announced Wednesday it has provisionally suspended the accreditation of the French National Anti-Doping Agency lab located in Paris. According to the WADA release, “this provisional suspension was imposed due to analytical issues self-reported to WADA by the laboratory.
The provisional suspension will remain in place until disciplinary procedures are carried out by an independent committee, and no tests may be conducted during that time.
Paris is one of the cities at the center of Olympic sports right now after the city was awarded the rights to host the 2024 Olympic Games two weeks ago.
Paris’ lab is one of several facilities operating within WADA that has been suspended. This summer, WADA issues a partial ban for the lab in Los Angeles, the city awarded to host the Olympic Games after Paris in 2028, but that lab was still allowed to conduct anti-doping tests during its sanction.
