World junior record holder Li Bingjie took the women’s 800 freestyle tonight with a solid 8:28.98 while veteran Kristen Kobrich took silver with an 8:35.65. The bronze was awarded to N.C. State’s Hannah Moore who swam an 8:36.87. Taking fourth and fifth were Mission Viejo’s Ashley Neidigh and N.C. State’s Tamila Holub while Sophie Cattermole swam an 8:47.51 to take sixth. Summer Finke, who actually swam in the preliminary heats, put together an 8:48.61 for seventh while Aggie distance swimmer Joy Field posted an 8:52.06 to round out the top eight.
