Wittenauer-Lee Posts One of Many Big Time Drops in 200 Breastroke Win on Third Day of Gresham Futures

The third day of the Mt. Hood Futures Championship saw many impressive time drops, including a big swim in the women’s 200-meter breastroke. Blaise Wittenauer-Lee dropped an impressive four seconds from her entry time to win the event in a time of 2:35.17. She was followed by Halladay Kinsey who posted a time of 2:36.13 to grab the silver, while Piper Brockley was third in a time of 2:38.29.

Earlier in the evening, in the women’s 200-meter fly Amanda Barnes won the race with a swift time of 2:16.39. She was followed closely by Sarah Nowaski who was 2:16.43. Elise Locke finished in third in a time of 1:16.78.

The men’s 200-meter fly was a close race between Keltan Lawler and Michael White. Lawler held out for the finish, posting a time of 2:02.17. White was second with a 2:02.75, while Jack Herron was third in 2:03.16.

The women’s splash and dash event of the 50-meter free went to Brooke Stenstrom who posted a swift time of 26.22. Lauren Moden followed closely behind with a finish of 26.32, while Leah Hatayama was third in 26.35.

The men’s 50-meter free was won by Simon Pheasant who came into the wall in a time of 23.17. He was followed by Jason Chen who finished in 23.44. Dillon Williams rounded out the top three with a time of 23.51.

The men’s 200-meter breastroke was won by Eric Tolman whose 2:18.45 was just off of an Olympic Trials qualifying time. Tolman was followed by Gabriel Rooker who finished in 2:19.08, while Tanner Olson was third in 2:19.95.

In the women’s 100-meter back, twenty-five year old Anna Heller dominated the race with a time of 1:03.81 securing her the win. She was followed by Elsa Litteken who was second in a time of 1:04.17, while Laura Laderoute was third in 1:04.81.

The men’s 100-meter back saw a battle between Brandon Presswood and Bradley Cline, with Presswood pulling out the win with a time of 57.34. He was followed closely by Cline who settled for second with his time of 57.73. Colin Lynch was third in 58.00.

The women’s 400-meter freestyle saw the first Olympic Trials qualifying time of the night with Haley Yelle posting a 4:17.82 to dominate the event. She was followed by Sydney Franzen who was 4:19.29, while Yuging Xie was third in 4:21.01.

Eric Fierro followed the women’s example, and also posted an Olympic Trials Qualifying time in the finals of the men’s 400-meter freestyle. Fierro posted a 3:58.45 which was the only time under 4:00. He was followed by Cody Loria who was second in a time of 4:00.58, while Shane Forker was third in a time of 4:01.98.

The Futures Championship will conclude tomorrow evening.
