San Diego Shores…7

George Csaszar burned the net for four goals for Trojan in a 9-7 win over San Diego Shores. Shores, who was massacred by the Olympic Club last night, 19-5, only converted one of its six man-advantage opportunities.

Newport b……12
Navy AC……5

Navy failed to capitalize on nine of 10 man-up chances and was shutout in the final quarter en route to a 12-5 loss at the hands of Newport B. Seven different players popped goals for Newport B, including Tony Grosso and Dan Hayes, who each had three.

Long Beach Shore…12
NYAC B…………..3

Local boy Tony Azevedo shined again in front of the hometown crowd, this time scoring three goals for Long Beach Shore Aquatics in a 12-3 victory over New York Athletic Club B.
New York goalkeeper Brett Adolph stopped 10 shots on goal in the loss.

Big Valley…….6
Olympic Club….12

Brent Albright and Ryan Flynn each tallied three goals for the Olympic Club in a 12-6 win over Big Valley. The Olympic Club outscored Big Valley 5-0 in the third quarter and 4-2 in the fourth to secure the victory. Chris Lund scored two goals for Big Valley in the loss.

NYAC A……8
Bruin……13

Sean Kern and Ryan Brown scored four goals apiece in Bruin’s 13-8 dismantling of NYAC A. Wolf Wigo scored four goals in the loss for NYAC, who was outscored 5-1 in the fourth quarter.
Bruin keeper Brandon Brooks collected nine saves in the loss.

Concord…….8
Newport A….12

Newport added to a 6-5 halftime lead with five third-period goals en route to a 12-8 win over Concord. Ryan Bailey and Mark Hunt both scored three goals in the win.
Omar Amr and Craig Watson both had a pair of goals for Newport A. Concord goalkeeper Russell Bernstein and Newport keeper Genie Kerr each had nine saves.

Big Valley……8
NYAC B……….8

Burak Incecam’s goal with 30 seconds to play gave NYAC B an 8-8 tie with Big Valley in pool play. Mike Judge cut NYAC B’s deficit to one with 2:30 remaining to set up Incecam’s tying goal two minutes later.
Incecam finished the day with three goals, while Judge and Ali Gozluk had two each.

Long Beach Shore……2
Olympic Club……….7

Chris Humbert stole the show in the Olympic Club’s 7-2 win over Long Beach Shore Aquatics. Humbert got the job done on the offensive end, scoring five goals on the day, but finished the game up with a red cap on in goal, actually sneaking in the save column with one.
His predecessor in goal, Chris Aguilera, notched 10 saves before being relieved.
The two teams were a combined 0-for-12 on man advantages.

Concord…..7
Bruin…….6

Mike West’s three goals helped push Concord past Bruin, 7-6. Six different players scored for Bruin. Brian Brown’s last second catch-and-shoot goal from the hole wasn’t enough for Bruin, who absorbed the loss.
Attila Bandihy scored two goals for Concord.

NYAC A…..10
Newport A…7

Chema Abarca had a bust-out game for the tournament, netting five goals for NYAC A in a 10-7 win against Newport A. Wolf Wigo also had a strong showing, connecting three times on the day.
NYAC goalkeeper Jack Bowen had six saves, while Newport goalkeeper Genie Kerr picked off 11 would-be scorers.

San Diego Shores…7
Navy AC…………6

San Diego Shores’ Jessie Smith scored three goals in a 7-6 win over Navy Athletic Club. Navy’s Sean Foster also had three goals.
Trailing 7-5 in the fourth, Navy closed the gap to one on a goal by Andrew Sause with 4:16 left. However, San Diego managed to stave off a rally and held on for the win.

Trojan……4
Newport B…9

Newport B, led by Jeff Powers’ four goals, glided past Trojan, 9-4.
Powers, who only failed to score in one quarter, was joined in the score column by teammates Kevin Brantley (1), Chris Kirchwehm (1), Jon Dorfi (1), and Dan Klatt (2).
Newport goalkeeper Dan Hipp fended off 12 shots on goal in the win. Ivan Babic netted two goals for Trojan in a losing cause.
