Justin Rich has announced his transfer from Ohio State University to Virginia Tech. Rich just completed his freshman year with the Buckeyes. He is originally from Midlothian, Virginia, and did his club swimming with Poseidon Swimming Inc.

Rich said of his decision,

“I’m excited to announce my commitment to continue swimming at Virginia Tech. Finishing out the final years of college under an amazing coaching staff headed by Sergio Lopez will be a humbling and special opportunity that I am very fortunate to be a part of. I am already grateful for the team welcoming me in with open arms, especially Josh Huger, who’s made the transfer as seamless as possible. Go Hokies!”

His lifetime bests include:

  • 100 Free 44.28
  • 50 Free 20.43
  • 200 Free 1:38.13

Rich recorded all three of those lifetime bests at the Ohio State Winter Invite in February. That was a seventh tenth drop in the 100 and a best by a second in the 200, compared to his high school times.

Another ‘Best’ choice. Good luck at VT and with your new Head Coach Sergio Lopez and Josh Huger, a great Assistant Coach.
