Kevin Cordes and Breeja Larson are both Olympic gold medalists, but the pair come into Winter Nationals after having far different summers as far as competition goes.

Cordes won the 100 breast at Olympic Trials and also made the Olympic team in the 200 breast, but he did not win any individual medals in Rio. After qualifying first in the 100 breast at Winter Nationals, Cordes explained why he was slightly disappointed with his Olympic Games but still elated with his relay gold medal. He also discussed training at Auburn under Sergio Lopez and what he misses about living and swimming in Singapore.

Larson, meanwhile, has returned home to Arizona, and she discussed her new training after her own 100 breast prelims swim at Nationals. She explained how competing on the World Cup circuit helped her get over a disappointing Olympic Trials. She also reflected on her former Texas A&M Aggie teammates and what it was like to watch both Bethany Galat and Lisa Bratton come so close to making the Olympic Team.
