Minnesota’s Brooke Zeiger and NC State’s Hannah Moore, both juniors, have been among the most consistent NCAA performers in the mid-distance and distance events over the past year, and both have had strong swims so far at AT&T Winter Nationals, which they discussed in video interviews with Swimming World after Saturday’s prelims.

Zeiger explained her 500 free from Thursday night, where she led for most of the race until falling short on the last 50, and her 400 IM from prelims, and she also discussed how the Golden Gophers are looking so far in the 2016-2017 season.

Moore, meanwhile, did not swim either the 500 free or 400 IM (two of her signature events) at Nationals, and she explained the logic behind competing in a “sprint” program this week. She also explained what has been behind the quick rise of the NC State women and how the women’s and men’s teams in Raleigh feed off each other.
