Simone Manuel talked with the media on Monday night at the 2018 Golden Goggles Awards show in New York City about the event itself and how she enjoys being around the national team while everyone is dressed up.

Manuel also talked about how she got a dress last minute and bought one not long before the event started. Manuel said she wanted to show up “best dressed” to the event so she had to impress.

Manuel is coming off a summer where she won four silver medals at the Pan Pacific Championships, placing behind Cate Campbell of Australia in both the 50 and 100 free.

Manuel also joined the USA Swimming Foundation alongside Ryan Murphy as new ambassadors.
