Video Interview Ryan Lochte Has Mixed Feelings About Scratching 400 IM

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, June 28. RYAN Lochte talks about why he's not a sprinter, despite placing second in the 100 butterfly at the 2013 USA Swimming nationals. He raced the 100 butterfly as a “fun event,” and gives indication that we will see a variety of different events on his roster in the coming years. Lochte also comments on the results in the men's 400 IM, saying that in retrospect he has mixed feelings about scratching the event.

News broke last night that Lochte was scratching both the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke today, giving himself a rare day off. Lochte already has had an intense week, winning the 200 free and 200 back on day two, finishing second in the 100 fly on the third night of finals and taking fourth in the 100 free on day one to secure a 400 free relay spot.
