Ryan Held had an extremely successful 2016, to say the least. After helping his NC State Wolfpack to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA championships and a win in the 400 free relay, Held introduced himself to a lot of swimming fans at Olympic Trials when he finished third in the 100 free and then provided a key leg on the U.S. men’s 400 free relay squad in Rio.
Appearing at his first Golden Goggles Monday night, Held reflected on all that, still in awe of how far he had come in such a short span of time. He also explained his favorite parts of New York City during his first trip to Golden Goggles.
