Swimming World caught up with Lia Neal after Saturday night’s finals session of the College Challenge. She mentions how strange it is to be on the other side, the USA team, and to be competing against her Stanford teammates. While she has graduated and moved on to the bigger leagues, Greg Meehan still offered her advice after her 100 freestyle, Neal jokes.

She also discusses suiting up in October and having to lay down fast times against some of the best swimmers in the world. With only one month of training under her belt post-summer break, Neal put up a 48.03 for second place. She is looking forward to continuing her pro swimming career this season.
