Following an up-and-down Thursday evening for their team at the women’s NCAA championships in Atlanta, Ga., Stanford head coach Greg Meehan and star freshman Ella Eastin joined Swimming World to recap the night’s events. Eastin set an American record to win the 200 IM (1:51.65), and her teammates also won the 400 medley relay. A victory in the 200 free relay was erased by disqualification.

Eastin spoke about what adjustments she made after just missing the record at Pac-12s and the emotions of breaking her first national standard. Meehan explained how his team bounced back from a tough start to the session to post exceptional swims the remainder of the night and get back into the team race.
