At last week’s ASCA Convention, Illinois-native Bill Schalz gave a talk about the interaction between high school and college swimming in his home state. Schalz is the owner of the Academy Bullets swim club and is the head coach for Rosary High School (girls) and Marmion Academy (boys).
In Illinois, swimmers competing for their high school teams cannot train with their club teams at all, but Schalz explains how building strong relationships between high school and club teams can be mutually beneficial for both parties and, of course, for the swimmers themselves.
