(Video Interview) Ashley Twichell Reflects on Bounce-Back Year

Ashley Twichell had not won an individual World Championships medal in six years, but she stood on the podium twice in Budapest, winning the 5k open water race and also taking a silver in the team event. She was nominated for Golden Goggles in the Race of the Year and Perseverance categories.

Before the awards show, Twichell discussed how much it meant to her to have such a successful year coming off the disappointments of missing the Olympic team and an all-around rough stretch of 2-3 years — not to mention a rough 10k swim just days before her 5k in Budapest.
