The Arizona Wildcats fell to fourth place Friday night at the women’s Pac-12 championships, and they trail USC 762-744 for third heading into the last night of finals. But despite all that, head coach Rick DeMont is plenty pleased with the way his women have performed so far.

In a video interview after Saturday morning’s prelims, DeMont explained Arizona’s tradition of focusing on the NCAA championships while sacrificing some performance at Pac-12s. He also discussed how his women’s team feels different at NCAAs with no seniors and described how far sprinter Katrina Konopka has come since this meet last year.
