Hilary Caldwell of Canada was one of a few athletes who didn’t take a very long break after the Rio Olympics. The bronze medalist took a few weeks off to travel around Brazil and to Nicaragua after the Olympics, but quickly returned to training and preparation for the 2016 Short Course World Championships.

Caldwell, who has been to the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Series approximately four or five times, commented that the competition is always good at the Arena Pro Series meets and that it’s nice to escape to some warmer weather in January.

While talking to the media she explained what it was like to return to Canada after the Olympics and the excitement of competing at the Short Course World Championships in front of a home crowd.
