GRANITE BAY, California, October 15.  The Anderson family certainly has swimming in their blood as the third of three sisters, Jordan, has committed to swim for the University of Utah today.

Jordan, the younger sister of Olympians Alyssa and Haley, is headed to Utah out of the Sierra Marlins Swim Team.

“I am so happy to continue the Pacific 12 tradition that has run in my family!” Jordan told Swimming World. “I chose Utah because of the incredible coaching staff and how supportive the team is! I can’t wait to be a part of the Ute family and can’t wait to get there!”

Jordan follows in the line of her sisters, with a distance freestyle tradition.  Her highest-ranked time is a 9:58.75 in the 1000-yard free from earlier this year. She also has a 16:51.18 in the 1650-yard freestyle from the Husky Invitational last December.

The Granite Bay High School senior has also branched out into some other longer-distance yardage events with a 2:02.17 in the 200-yard fly, a 4:52.79 in the 500-yard free and a 4:22.03 in the 400-yard IM among her resume of swims.

Jordan also has a long course pedigree with a 2:19.10 in the 200-meter free, a 4:24.89 in the 400-meter free, a 9:00.15 in the 800-meter free and a 17:22.71 in the 1500-meter freestyle.  Additionally, she clocked a 4:59.15 in the 400-meter IM.

The move also kept the Anderson family in the Pacific 12 Conference. Alyssa, the oldest, won an Olympic gold medal as part of the 800-meter freestyle relay at the 2012 London Olympics. She swam at the University of Arizona.  Haley, who went on to become an Olympic silver medalist in the 10K open water event at the 2012 London Olympics, swam for the University of Southern California collegiately, and still trains with Trojan Swim Club.

In fact, Alyssa and Haley were just the second U.S. sister tandem to ever compete in the same Olympics in swimming.  Tara and Dana Kirk were the first at the 2004 Olympics.
