USA Swimming Tuesday introduced a merchandise relief program, the proceeds of which benefit national team athletes. It will sell apparel, towels, stickers and water bottles branded with the logo, “2021 – We’ll Be Ready”.

USA Swimming will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to support the national team and its athletes. It is partnering with Swim Outlet, Match-up, Speedo and Swaponz in the sale.

Items are available for purchase starting Tuesday, May 5 at swimoutlet.com or usaswimming.org.

From the press release, on the impetus for the “2021 – We’ll Be Ready” campaign:

With the Olympic Games now moved to July 2021, National Team athletes face the unexpected challenge and financial burden of continuing to train for an additional year to fulfill their dreams. With the loss of key competitions throughout 2020 and reduced training and revenue-generating opportunities, this product line was created as a means for the membership to support their U.S. Olympic hopefuls.

The move to better support national-team athletes follows decisions by USA Swimming in recent weeks to set up a strategic recovery plan for clubs and to join the All In Challenge, which raises money to help provide food to those affective by the coronavirus pandemic.

“USA Swimming is excited to offer this collection of fan gear to honor the athletes training for Tokyo,” Chief Commercial Officer for USA Swimming Shana Ferguson said in the statement. “Support for our athletes comes in many forms, and this merchandise gives the swimming community a chance to show their pride in our Nation Team. Fans who purchase this gear can feel good knowing the proceeds go directly to the athletes whose training has been disrupted and rerouted in 2020.”
