USA Swimming Sectionals, Clovis: Chase Bloch Betters Meet Record
CLOVIS, California, July 21. THE USA Swimming Sectionals in Clovis featured a meet record in long course meter competition.
Chase Bloch downed the meet record in the men's 200 back with a 2:03.63 for the win. That swim clipped the 2:03.83 set by Louis Vayo back in 2005. Eugene Tee took a distant second in 2:06.27, while Josh Smith placed third in 2:09.15.
Melisa Mexia topped the women's 200 fly in 2:15.68, while Ella Eastin, 14, finished second in 2:16.48. Rachel O'Brien touched third in 2:16.67. Eastin captured the women's 200 back in 2:19.20 after finishing second in the 200 fly. Nicole Mertel took second in 2:19.46, while Katrina Anderson earned third in 2:20.45.
Justin Wright claimed the men's 200 fly title in 2:02.93, while Keltan Lawler touched second in 2:03.75. Christopher Wong placed third in 2:04.93.
Brianna Weinstein picked up the women's 200 breast in 2:34.33. Ashley Tse (2:35.80) and Darcie Anderson (2:36.86) completed the podium. Jordan Litz topped the men's 200 breast in 2:20.74. Nathan LeRoy finished second in 2:21.24, while Yota Ito snagged third in 2:22.01.
Chelsea Chenault took home the women's 100 free in 56.68, while Lindsey Engel (57.11) and Julia Ama (57.50) picked up second and third. Christopher Pipes won the men's 100 free in 51.73. Tyler Harp finished second in 52.14, while Mark Silvius claimed third in 52.41.
