USA Swimming Introduces 2016 Olympic Team: Jack Conger

Jack Conger made the Olympic team with a third place finish in the 200 freestyle. In the USA Swimming video introducing him, the University of Texas Longhorn described the intensity of Olympic Trials and the “every man for himself” mentality in the ready room. Despite this, Conger stressed the importance of still having fun in the moment and not thinking too far ahead.

Conger recalled the moment when he realized he had a chance to “do something” in the sport of swimming. The 21 year old shared that regrets quitting other sports as a seventh grader, because he believes he would have been a good football player.
