USA Swimming Hires Isabelle McLemore as Senior Communications Director

USA Swimming has appointed Isabelle McLemore to lead the organization’s media and public relations efforts in the Commercial Division as the Senior Director of Communications. McLemore will begin her role at the end of December. 

“Isabelle’s extensive sports and organizational communications experience make her a strong addition to our team,” USA Swimming President and CEO Tim Hinchey said. “She will play an essential part in creating communications strategy across all aspects of USA Swimming including grassroots and the National Team and we’re looking forward the positive impact she will have on our growing sport.”

In her role, McLemore will oversee all organizational messaging, initiatives and campaigns produced by USA Swimming and will serve as the spokesperson for the organization. McLemore will oversee a three-member team who specialize in communications and media relations for events, national team athletes, programs & services, multicultural, sponsorships and social media.

I look forward to returning to the Olympic movement and helping to showcase this exceptional brand.”

McLemore most recently served as the Vice President of Corporate Communications at UFC starting in 2011, where she primarily focused on executive communications strategies and internal communications. Prior to her role at UFC, McLemore managed media relations for the Canadian Olympic Committee for three years and played a key role in the promotion of the Canadian Olympic team at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada. McLemore also worked as the communications manager for the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour starting in 2005.

McLemore graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a B.A. in business French, with a minor in communications and earned a post-diploma in sports administration from Durham College. McLemore will relocate to USA Swimming’s headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado with her husband John and two children.
