USA Swimming Foundation Awards $507,618 to Swim Lesson Providers

The USA Swimming Foundation on Monday announced the recipients of its 2021 grant program for swimming lesson providers, doling out more than a half million dollars.

In all, $507,618 will be divided among 67 programs from 27 states. USA Swimming estimates than those clubs will reach nearly 14,000 children. The grants go to subsidize learn-to-swim classes, allowing providers to offer them at reduced cost or for free.

The outlay of funds is a significant increase from the $314,114 that the USA Swimming Foundation allotted in 2020 (as part of larger aid programs). This year, 243 applications were received by the foundation, which has been awarded grants to learn-to-swim programs since 2007.
