USA Swimming Foundation Adds Three To Board of Directors

USA Swimming Foundation this week added three people to its Board of Directors.

Kelley Gay, Heather Glass and Kim Chen Bock were elected at a November board meeting. They will begin their terms on the board of USA Swimming’s philanthropic arm on Jan. 1, 2024 and serve through 2026.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kelley, Heather, and Kim to the board of directors in January,” Elaine Calip, Senior Director of Development for the USA Swimming Foundation, said in a press release. “They bring diverse perspectives and backgrounds to this board, and we know they will enhance our mission and efforts moving forward.”

The trio will join Anne Berry, Jay DeFinis and Elizabeth Beisel, all of whom were re-elected to a second three-year term on the board. Berry is the vice chair for a second term, DeFinis moves into the treasurer role and Beisel will become the organization’s secretary through 2025. The board elected Alex Blavatnik as a trustee council representative.

One member to depart the board is former swimmer Tom Luchsinger, who was hired by USA Swimming Foundation and its director of development. His term will be completed by Mary Wayte, a four-time Olympic gold medalist at the 1984 and 1988 Games.

“Retaining Anne, Jay, and Elizabeth on our Board of Directors is incredibly important to our strategic planning and success,” Calip said. “They each bring strong leadership, passion and valued skills to the group and are very active members of the board.”

Gay is the senior vice president and chief marketing officer of USA Swimming partner One America, a financial services firm. Gay was a national champion basketball player at the University of Connecticut.

Glass is a project manager of data analytics for TeamHealth, a physicians practice. She’s a swim instructor who has long been involved in water safety and learn-to-swim. She’s worked with the Emerald Youth Foundation in Knoxville, Tenn.

Chen Bock is the director of strategy and operations for global business development at digital infrastructure company Equinix. A competitive swimmer at the University of California, she taught swimming through private lessons and is a swim parent.
