The complete National Team roster, which is comprised of the top six swimmers in each Olympic event, can be found online here.

“The USA Swimming National Team represents the pinnacle of competitive swimming in the United States,” said Frank Busch, USA Swimming National Team Director. “This group of dedicated and talented athletes will positively represent our country and continue to build on our tremendous legacy of success in and out of the pool.”

Fresh off winning three medals at last month’s 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, Lochte qualified for the National Team in a team-best five events – 100-meter free, 200m free, 200m back, 100m fly and 200m IM.

Phelps, who led the U.S. men with five medals at Pan Pacs, returns to the National Team after a one-year hiatus in four events – 100m free, 100m back, 100m fly and 200m IM. Franklin also earned National Team status in four events – 100m free, 200m free, 100m back and 200m back.

Ledecky, who won five gold medals and set two world records at 2014 Pan Pacs, earned a National Team roster spot with top performances in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle events.

Elizabeth Beisel (Saunderstown, R.I.; 400m free, 200m back, 200m IM, 400m IM), Tyler Clary (Riverside, Calif.; 200m back, 200m fly, 200m IM, 400m IM) and Becca Mann (Homer Glenn, Ill.; 400m free, 800m free, 400m IM, 10K open water) also claimed National Team status in four events.

Swimmers were selected for the USA Swimming National Team based on their times in Olympic events from the combined results of the 2014 Phillips 66 National Championships and the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships. The top six athletes in each event made the National Team, however, relay lead-offs and time trials were not included.

Open water National Team members qualified with a top-six finish in the 10-kilometer race at the 2014 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships.

Benefits offered to USA Swimming National Team members include reimbursement for travel to USA Swimming Arena Grand Prix Series meets and training camp opportunities. Select athletes are eligible for monthly assistance and elite athlete health insurance.
