USA Swimming, Ryan Lochte And SwimToday Introduce #SwimVite Contest

SwimToday

USA Swimming and SwimToday invite all current athletes, coaches and parents to introduce others to the #FunnestSport through a new social media campaign called #SwimVite.

The concept of #SwimVite is simple – come up with a creative and unique way to invite someone to try the sport of swimming and capture it on social media. Submit using the #SwimVite hashtag and the best images and videos will be selected to be a part of an NBC television segment during the 2015 Phillips 66 National Championships.

USA Swimming athletes Ryan Lochte (Daytona Beach, Fla.), Conor Dwyer (Winnetka, Ill.), Cullen Jones(Irvington, N.J.), Cammile Adams (Cypress, Texas) and Emma Reaney (Lawrence, Kan.) will help launch the campaign by showing off their own creative invitations.

Here are some examples of a #SwimVite:

“Presenting a swim cap to a new teammate is a great way to invite someone new to the sport. We want to see all these presentations and other creative ‘SwimVites’ from our swimming community,” said USA Swimming Chief Marketing Officer Matt Farrell. “Newcomers join our amazing teams across the country every day and this is a way to share the fun within our community and to those who are considering joining a swim team.”

The best posts utilizing #SwimVite will be featured alongside Olympic and National Team athletes during an NBC feature segment on August 9th.

The #SwimVite campaign is a part of a continued effort by SwimToday to make the sport of swimming more inviting and showcase why it is the #FunnestSport. For more background on the invitation concept, please see the  Chuck Wielgus Blog entitled Swimming Needs More Cowbell.
