USA Diving’s 2017 World Championship Trials for individual Olympic events will be held May 19-21 in Indianapolis. Competition will be held at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI, also the site of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for diving.

The final eight spots on the 2017 World Championship team will be determined at the trials, with two spots at stake in each of the individual 3-meter and 10-meter events for both men and women.

The synchronized teams for the World Championships will be selected at the USA Diving Synchronized National Championships to be held April 12-15 in Atlanta.

The World Championships will be held July 14-22 in Budapest, Hungary.

Four divers have already punched their tickets to Budapest, as the 1-meter spots were determined at the 2016 USA Diving Winter National Championships in December. 2016 Olympic silver medalists Michael Hixon (Amherst, Mass./Bloomington, Ind.) and Steele Johnson (Carmel, Ind./West Lafayette, Ind.) won gold and silver in the men’s 1-meter event at nationals to secure their spots on the team, while Maria Coburn (Round Rock, Texas) and Alison Gibson (Austin, Texas) earned the women’s 1-meter spots after finishing first and second at nationals.
