UNLV Swimming & Diving Releases 2018-19 Meet Schedule

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Seven home competitions and an invitational at Pac-12 member USC highlight the 2018-19 slate for UNLV men’s and women’s swimming and diving, as the schedule was released by the athletics department Thursday
 

“We have put together a very purposeful lineup that matches the Rebels against the best in the region,” said UNLV head coach Ben Loorz. “We’re excited for the two invitationals we will compete at in the fall, at USC and our home event at the end of November, while we end the winter season against several conference opponents to prepare us for the league championship meets in February.”

The Rebels will begin the season at the USC Invite, held on the USC campus in Los Angeles on Oct. 5-6. The first home meet of the season for UNLV will be against Cal Baptist on Oct. 20, followed by back-to-back home dual meets against Utah (Nov. 2) and BYU (Nov. 3). 
 
The Rebels will host their annual UNLV Invite on the weekend after Thanksgiving this season, as it will run from Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in the Jim Reitz Pool. UNLV will close out the fall semester with a road meet at CSU Bakersfield (Dec. 19).
 
The first meet of 2019 will have the Rebel women take to the road for a dual meet at in-state rival UNR on Jan. 15. Then its three-straight home competitions for the Rebels. On Jan. 18, UNLV will host a Friday Night Lights meet for the second straight year, this time with UC Santa Barbara and Denver, and will then face the two in a regular dual meet format the next day (Jan. 19). The home meet slate concludes on Jan. 26 with a Senior Day against with Wyoming.
February will have the Rebels in Arizona for the last dual meet action of the season, at Grand Canyon on Feb. 2.
 
This year’s Mountain West women’s championships will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from Feb. 20-23, while the men’s WAC Championship meet will take place in Houston, Texas, from Feb. 27-March 2. Both NCAA Championship meets will be hosted by the University of Texas this season in Austin, with the women’s event running from March 20-23, while the men’s meet will take place on March 27-30
