Swim Pasadena’s Sean Lee has given the University of Pennsylvania his verbal commitment. Lee was a three event Olympic Trials qualifier, swimming the 200 butterfly and both IM events in Omaha. In short course, he is also a strong backstroker. The high school senior earns over 900 power points in six different yards events.
Lee’s best times are:
- 200 IM 1:48.15
- 400 IM 3:54.98
- 100 Back 50.60
- 200 Back 1:48.15
- 100 Fly 48.53
- 200 Fly 1:48.01
Lee is a Southern California Swimming 13-14 Age Group record holder. On the high school level, swimming for Loyola, Lee is the defending CIF Southern Division 1 Section Champion in the 200 IM (1:48.15).
At the 2016 Ivy League Championship, Penn finished third. Lee would have been a 200 butterfly B finalist and the highest finisher for the Quakers. Hunter Brakovec posted a 1:47.86 in prelims of the event will overlap with Lee for a year, and give him a great training partner. Lee would also be a B finalist in both IMs. Last year, freshman Mark Andrew (1:45.73) finished third in the 200 IM. Lee will have strong training partners no matter which events he turns his focus to.
Excited to announce that I will be continuing both my swimming and academic career at the University of Pennsylvania. Go Quakers! pic.twitter.com/QjfZewtJma
