Ukraine’s Daryna Zevina Tops 200 Back Semis at Euros

Ukraine’s Daryna Zevina paced semis in the women’s 200-meter back at the 2016 European Championships.

Zevina claimed the top seed heading into finals in a time of 2:08.66. That put her 11th in the world rankings with the swim.

Croatia’s Matea Samardzic qualified second with a time of 2:09.87, while Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu backed up her 400 IM meet record with a third-seeded 2:09.98 in semis of the 200 back.

Hungary’s Kata Burian (2:10.83), Iceland’s Eyglo Gustafsdottir (2:10.87), Czech’s Simona Baumrtova (2:11.26), Poland’s Alicja Tchorz (2:11.63) and Turkey’s Zeren Zulal (2:11.71) also earned spots in finals.
